Sorghum x Sudangrass

Sorghum x Sudangrass

MULTI-CUT HYBRIDS Sorghum x sudangrass hybrids are traditionally a cross between grain-bearing forage sorghum females and grassy pollinators (often having varying degrees of sudangrass bred into the background). These hybrids have amazing diversity and plant types, ranging from 5’ tall dwarf types to large, photoperiod sensitive sterile hybrids. These products are intended to be managed as a multi-cut hay crop from a warm season grass that allows for very versatile usage. Cut initially at about 60” height, with adequate growing conditions the crop will regrow from basal nodes to create a second crop of foliage; this second crop is commonly harvested at 40” height or 40 days after the first cut, whichever comes first. These products are grown extensively across the US for hay and grazing options.
